Frequently Asked Questions
What is the current ED Research?
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common condition affecting men, characterized by the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity. ED can have a variety of physical and psychological causes, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, obesity, smoking, depression, anxiety, and relationship problems.
What are the physical causes of ED?
The physical causes of ED can be related to blood flow, nerve function, hormones, or medications. Age also plays a role, with ED becoming more common as men get older. Lifestyle factors, such as diet, exercise, and sleep, can also impact erectile function.
How is ED Diagnosed?
At CMC, ED typically involves a medical history, a physical exam, a doppler examination. Each patient self-reports their current erectile condition. The private, honest, and open conversation with our clinical staff helps assess your individual problem.
What types of Treatment are used to treat ED?
At CMC, we treat the root of the problem by treating the vascular blockage to increase blood flow to the penis. We treat you with Acoustic Wave Therapy to:
- clean the plaque in the arteries,
- reproduce new vessels,
- rejuvenate the pelvic and penile area.
CMC uses a 360 degree comprehensive approach to ED and sexual health with our team approach. We provide: therapeutic massage, teach patients Kegel exercises in our ER=exercise room, and provide PT=patient training and coaching.
What happens if you don’t treat ED?
Untreated ED can have a significant impact on a man’s quality of life and relationships. With proper diagnosis and treatment, however, many men with ED are able to regain sexual function and improve their overall well-being.
